MJ nominated for American Music Awards

Michael Jackson led the way for male artists with 5 nominations, including Artist of the Year. He also received nominations for Favorite Male Artist in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B category. His collection of solo chart toppers, "Number Ones", received nominations for favorite album of the year in the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories also.
Nominees are determined by a combination of retail sales and radio airplay, but the award winners will be selected by the public through online voting.

Sony discloses tracklisting of "This Is It" album

At the stroke of 12 a.m. (midnight) EST on October 12th, a never-before released song from Michael Jackson - a single entitled "This Is It" - will be unveiled to the world on www.MichaelJackson.com. "This Is It," a brand new song, marks yet another exciting moment in music history for one of the world’s most revered artists; featuring backing vocals by Michael’s brothers The Jacksons, the song plays during the closing sequence of Sony Pictures' forthcoming film MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT and is on the 2-disc CD set Michael Jackson's This Is It, which is the stand-alone companion to the motion picture. The single artwork - a new photo of Michael taken recently at his Staples Center rehearsals - will also be disclosed.

Los Angeles Oct. 5, 2009 Despite the proliferation of Michael Jackson books
published or announced since his death, The Official Michael Jackson Opus will
remain the only brand new authorized tribute to the King of Pop appearing on the shelves
for the holidays, it was announced today. The book joins the reissue of Michael's 1988
autobiography Moonwalk as the only titles authorized by the legendary singer's Estate.
